Cape Floral Kingdom Exhibition, Bredasdorp - 28 Aug 2014

We arrived in Bredasdorp in our coach shortly before 11am, with the rain still pouring.

The displays of the Fynbos and the variety of all the live material was excellent, complete with waterfall. Good to see that so much is still available in the veld. The objective of the show was also to showcase the Fynbos flower industry and we learnt that 90% of the material is exported. The quality of the cultivated flowers on display was of a very high standard.

Luckily everything was under roof as it poured with rain on and off the whole day. The stall with the live owls and birds of prey from Spier Wine Estate drew much attention.

The floral arrangements were of world class standard and had entries from all over the Western Cape.

We arrived back at 6pm after a long but enjoyable day!
