Gardening for Beginners Part 2 - 03 May 2014
3rd of May 2014 and the weather held out, giving us a calm, sunny although a little chilly, day.  More than 30 visitors attended ‘Gardening for Beginners – Part 2’

The event started off with a brief overview of fertilizers, especially NPK which we all seem to have difficulty in remembering what the values of each element are.

The guest instructor, Cyril Wood, gave a most informative lecture and demonstration on pruning and taking cuttings from the garden.

Alex Duff from Talbourne Organics, although not promoting his product, gave us a brief chat on Organic Fertilizers in general.

This event was indeed not just for beginners and many a new trick was taught to all of us old gardeners and new!!  As Chairperson Barbara said at the beginning of the event ‘No tears now, I don’t want to see any crying’ her reference to how brutal pruning seems to be!

The visitors, without exception, all joined in at the question and answer time and the feedback from our visitors was that this event was a worthwhile and exciting morning!

Thank you to our sponsors who donated raffle prizes.
